This manufacturer of commercial grade, rechargeable batteries needed to construct multiple, burn-in testing facilities for quality assessment of their products under different environmental stressors. Each room required strict temperature and humidity controls to maintain a stable test environment. Additionally, they were looking to make better use of their high-ceiling facility for storage and were considering purchasing a mezzanine system under which they would have a carpenter construct the required testing facilities.
Upon contacting the material storage and facility design professionals at SHECO, the manufacturer’s facilities engineer was presented with a more cost-effective solution to their product testing and storage needs. The SHECO team recommended the installation of Panelbuilt modular offices for use as testing facilities. These modular spaces provided the controlled environment necessary for the product testing process for less money than custom carpentry and were installed in significantly less time. The roofs of these offices were also sturdy enough to meet the storage needs of the manufacturer as well.
With the addition of a rail system and catwalks on top of the offices, SHECO was able to deliver the secure and accessible storage space required without the purchase of a separate mezzanine system.

When a small, New England township needed to add offices to its already at-capacity town hall, SHECO was contracted to convert an unused auditorium into functional office space while preserving the historic architecture for the possibility of converting it back to its original, intended use.
Upon viewing the space, the SHECO planning and installation teams suggested the installation of modular offices from Panelbuilt to create the six offices and conference room required to house the department. The SHECO team was able to quickly install the modular office systems and worked with electrical and HVAC contractors to create functional and comfortable office space - complete with lighting, electrical, and climate control – in a very nontraditional space in a short period of time. By using a modular rather than permanently constructed office system, the SHECO team was able to leave the original architecture of the space untouched, offering the flexibility to easily convert the space back to its original configuration and purpose with minimal cost and damage.
Soon after the initial installation, the SHECO team was called upon again to expand the space to accommodate a receptionist station. Using an adjacent hallway, the SHECO installation team installed a Panelbuilt wall system to create the reception station while again maintaining the flexibility to convert the space back to its original configuration.
When a local high school needed to create a new video production studio, they called on the facilities specialists at SHECO to help them design a space that would meet the special requirements of such an operation. Used as part of the school’s communications curriculum as well as to produce public access programming for the local community, the new studio needed to have all the attributes of a professional video soundstage – sound proofing; high ceilings to accommodate lights and equipment; channels for running cables and a control room for the production staff and equipment.
The SHECO design and installation team provided the configuration, installation and customization of a PanelBuilt modular office to fabricate a studio and control room complete with a 12-foot high, suspended ceiling which provided adequate sound proofing as well as the appropriate clearance and support for lighting and equipment rigs. Custom fabricated grommets were placed into the walls to channel the multitude of cables required for various production equipment and the entire space was made electrical and HVAC ready for contractors toinstall climate control systems.
The end result? A professional-grade, video production studio to meet the needs of students, faculty and the greater community without the high cost and wait time of traditional construction.
